Hey everyone! It’s Thursday, so you know what that means! A new article I know you’ll love. I know it’s a little later in the day than I normal post but I’ll be honestly it’s been a crazy, rollercoaster week and I didn’t have time to write today’s article until, well, today. So on that note, I also picked a fun topic to talk about!
In our house I try to limit screen time for multiple reasons but the main one is because our daughter is at that age where she can and will get lost watching TV. And what one year old needs to be hooked on TV already?
At first, I had no problem limiting our screen time, but because of what’s going on in the world it’s been harder to have activities to keep us occupied. So before I knew it we were watching way more television than any one year old needs to watch in a single day. I needed something to listen to and to keep me entertained while we did things throughout and music just was enough. That’s when I stumbled upon podcasts! When I say I instantly fell in love with them, it’s no lie. I can clean, cook, or play with my daughter and be super enthralled with a story or speaker while providing no screen time to Juniper.
So today I decided to share my love of podcasts with you and tell you about my favorite ones. This blog isn’t sponsored so these are just my honest opinions of what I love. Lastly, if you have any podcast that you love, please share! I love discovering new shows to listen too.
Obviously I have to start with the podcast that first got me into listening to them, right? If you know me you know I’m pretty into most things Rachel Hollis, and after I finished her books I wanted to keep that motivational voice in my life. That’s when I discovered her RISE Podcast. This podcast is specifically designed to provide tactical information to today’s business woman so if you do decide to listen, keep a notebook near so you can write things down. She brings some valuable information to you for free, and let’s be honest, there’s no better price than free.
RISE Together Podcast
Going off of that, she also has another podcast that she host with her husband, Dave. This podcast is a lot more light hearted and fun than RISE and is totally bingeable! Rachel and Dave talk about anything and everything, from kids, marriage, and family to working together and leading a team of people to success. I will say I don’t agree with absolutely everything they say or talk about but it’s still great to get another perspective to challenge my own. They are also super vulnerable and real which I highly appreciate.
Straight Up with Trent Shelton
Okay. Honestly, if you workout you need this podcast in your life. I’m not saying this is a fitness podcast, because it’s not. What I am saying, though, is that he is on fire! His podcasts usually are about 20-30 minutes long, which is shorter than I’m used too, but he packs a TON of great content in that time. He’s all about becoming the best you possible and being completely transparent with you on how to get there. This boy is on fire and he is a great motivator if you need a little jump to your start. (You see what I did there? Jump start. Jump to your start… Well I found it funny at least.) If I’m getting to the end of my workout and I’m struggling, I will put his podcast on and it will get me through to the finish.
And I saved the best and my favorite for last! If you have read my “About Me” section of my blog, this should come as no surprise to you, because you already know I love true crime. I mean, I don’t like crime but I find it interesting to learn about. And if the name didn’t give it away, this is what this podcast is all about! These are 100% real crime stories, some solved and some not, retold to you by the hosts, Ashley Flowers and Brit Prawat. It was a told accident that I stumbled upon this podcast but I’m glad I did because it’s the one I’m ALWAYS listening too. Actually as I’m writing this I really want to finish so I can listen to the next episode. They may call that an addiction… Oh well.
I listen to all these podcasts on Apple Podcasts but I’m sure it’s on other platforms I’m not familiar with! It’s been a lot of fun writing about something that I love so much! If you’ve enjoyed this article let me know or if you hated it let me know as well.
I’m also getting ready to write my monthly emailed newsletter! May 1st I sent out an exclusive recipe and craft for Mother’s Day. This month I’m planning another super fun newsletter that you won’t want to miss out on!
