The goal with these recipes is to keep my commentary short, sweet, and to the point, and the main purpose is to help people have quick easy meals at their fingertips. Let’s be honest, life is busy, and I can’t be the only one who feels like there’s never enough time to cook. No? I am the only one? Okay, well good talk, here’s my dish anyways.
For my opening dish I wanted to make it a super duper easy one, I mean all my dishes are going to be easy, but I really wanted this one to be as easy as it could get. I wish I had a good reason for this but really it’s just because I’m pooped. In the past week I have built and launched a subscription based blogging website with automatic emails and three out of four blog posts up and ready to read. That sounds like complaining, but I’m not. I just needed my next post to be a little more relaxed without compromising favor or quality.
So that brings us to the recipe. You guys, I am legitimately obsessed with this recipe! You can even ask my husband. If I’m not using my crockpot for anything else that night you better believe I’m making green beans in it again. This recipe tastes like heaven, gets your families eating veggies, and it makes a TON! Can you really ask for more? No. I say no.
I don’t know if kids are born instinctively hating vegetables or if it’s just mine but, my ten month old refuses to consume them. If she recognizes what’s on her tray she won’t even touch them but even if she gets them to her mouth for the first bite, you better believe the next thing she’s doing is spitting them right on out. Then the rest will somehow end up on all over the floor, like magic. (Can I get a facepalm emoji please!!)
That is until I found my crockpot green bean recipe, ever since then ALL of us can’t get enough of them!
You literally only need three ingredients, 1/2 stick of butter, 16oz bag of extra fine green beans, one ranch dressing seasoning packet and you have delicious VEGETABLES for the whole family!
Step 1: Put butter and green beans into crockpot. Side note, I have used one whole stick of butter before but to me it just seemed like an excessive amount of butter so I cut back. My husband did inform me tonight that he thinks it tastes better with more butter, though, so do with that information as you will.
Step 2: Sprinkle seasoning evenly over green beans.
Step 3: Cover and cook on Low for 3-4 hours or on High 1-2 hours stirring occasionally. I give you a range of cook time because it really depends how done you want your green beans and/or how much time you have until you need these ready. I personally like them to cook longer because it gives the seasoning more time to soak in leaving the dish much more flavorful, but it’s really up to you.
You’re done and, now you have a delicious veggie everyone should enjoy. Happy eating!
I hope that through my words, you receive encouragement and that you discover you are not alone in this mess we call adulthood. I’m rooting for you.
